It’s been a while since I shared a scrapbook page

It’s been a while since I shared a scrapbook page.  This page I completed a little while ago so some of the items are now retired but all products used are Stampin’ Up!  Although the patterned papers featured on this page are now retired- there are some absolutely divine choices on pages 132-135 of the catalogue.  The patterned paper sets include TWELVE double-sided sheets for only $16.95.  That’s less than $1.50 per sheet!

In the top left hand corner I have used a Soft Sky Carousel note behind the title.  The colour is now retired but you can purchase the Carousel Notes in set that includes 4 each of Ruby Red, Kiwi Kiss and Baja Breeze with 12 Chocolate Chip Envelopes (page 131 of the new catalogue)  These scalloped circles are designed to be a notecard but as you can see the possibilities are limitless and in this case I have decided to use them on a scrapbook page. 

I love how the NEW ‘In Colour’ Pink Pirouette works with Erin’s dress.   Isn’t it lovely!?

 

It is difficult to see in the photo but the Chipboard letters (p6 147) and accents have been coated in Whisper White Ink.  Once dried I added Heat and Stick Powder using Versamark Ink and then a layer of Dazzling Diamonds.  This glitter is so much fun to use and because Stampin’ Up! like to spoil you with choice we now have this fine  glitter available in a set known as Fine Supernova that includes Chocolate, Olive, Orange and Aqua.  (p 145) 

I love using ribbon on my projects.  In this case I have made little pleats in the ribbon for added interest but there are some lovely decorative ribbon choices on page 150 of the new catalogue.

I’m so excited…

In a little over a week I’m off to join fellow Stampin’ Up Demonstrators at the Stampin’ Up! Convention in Canberra.  I have been looking forward to this event for the past few months and can’t believe that in a little over a week I will be there enjoying the fantastic atmosphere and spending time with friends and meeting new people. 

In the meantime there is so much I should be doing but all the other little jobs have been getting in the way of preparation for Convention.  I just know I will be tossing my gear into my bag the night before and hoping for the best!

Here are a couple of kids birthday cards I have created using the “Pun Fun” Stamp Set.

The colour combination for the first card is Riding Hood Red, Pink Piroutte, Old Olive and Basic Gray.  The birthday greeting is from “More Thoughts” and the Old Olive felt flower is from the “Flower Fusion” Tin

 

The second card has been created using the new in colours Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango and is teamed with Apricot Appeal.  The Birthday greeting comes from the “Party Hearty” Stamp set.  On this card I have used a  number of punches, the corner rounder punch, 3.5cm punch, designer label punch, large oval punch and spiral punch (for the notebook effect down the side)

I almost forgot to mention that the little cupcake that the bird is holding ISN’T part of the stamp.  I added the little cupcake from the “Short and Sweet” stamp set Page 117 using my STAMPAMAJIG

This quote really rang true for me this week.  I consider myself very lucky to have such beautiful person in my life!  I received this divine card and a special gift during the week! I was speechless when she also extended a special gift for a family member!  Thank you doesn’t seem enough!

Anyway- I wanted to be able to share this card with you that she made for me.  Isn’t it gorgeous? I just LOVE the new Bella Rose Designer Series Paper and Red Riding Hood Ribbon from the Dress Up ribbon Originals

The scallop edge punch has been used along the bottom as a feature.  Here is the same card photographed flat so that you can see what I mean

………..and I bet you thought I had forgotten about the two birthday cards I promised to show you.  I haven’t forgotten- I’ve just been unwell with a virus.  I’m still feeling a little unwell today but relieved that at least I feel well enough to sit in front of the computer screen to show you my creations.

The first card features the colours Pink Pirouette and Chocolate Chip! Aren’t these colours just PERFECT together.  I was so thrilled when I heard we were getting a lovely soft pink colour like this!  Mmm! Just love it!   I was just as thrilled to see in the new catalogue that the gorgeous Flower Fusion felt flowers are now available in Pink Pirouette and Chocolate chip ( Baja Breeze also comes in the tin) I’m also lovin’ the clear rhinestones and the eyelet border punch so it seemed perfect to use all of these favourites from the catalogue on a card for one of my favourite people!

I used the “my dear kind and wonderful friend” stamp from the “Occasional Greetings” Stamp set. (p112)  I also wanted to add a “Happy Birthday” from “On your birthday” (p113)  I liked the font in the “Live, Laugh & Love Happy Birthday” stamp but only wanted the “Happy Birthday part” so I used a chocolate chip marker and my “STAMPAMAJIG” for perfect placement above the other greeting.

I rounded the corner using the “corner rounder punch“.  You will notice this is missing from the pages of punches in the new catalogue (p 152 and p 153) but it is definitely still available!

When I heard that Ryan wanted a Rocket cake for his birthday I thought that the stamp from “Pun Fun” (page 41) would be the perfect choice.  I have embossed the background using a stamp from “Good Friend” (pg 99) as well as adding some doodling with my white Signo Gel Pen to mimic the patterns in the background of the stamp.  In this case I watercoloured the image using a Blender pen, cut it out and then popped it up using Dimensionals.  It wasn’t until I looked at the photo that I saw what a bad job I did of adding the Supernova glitter to the rocket.

I get such a buzz out of people being as excited about Stampin’ Up! as I am.  I love it when people tell me that they have a great time creating using Stampin’ Up! products (either in workshops OR in their own homes using products that they have purchased from me)

Imagine how thrilled I was to receive an E-mail from a very good friend, sharing with me the Easter bags she had created for her friend’s triplets.   I couldn’t resist sharing them with you here! Aren’t they gorgeous!  I know the kids will be rapt to receive these, wouldn’t you?

 

Jill has used Stampin’ Ups white gift sacks (which are now retired unforunately) She has used ”A Good Egg” Stamp Set  (page 35)    She has watercoloured using markers and blender pens!  Thanks again for sharing Jill- and thanks for letting me post them on the blog!

Final donation amount for Bushfire appeal

In mid-February, we launched the Bushfire Appeal in response to the tragedy that affected so many lives in Victoria and across Australia. We’re pleased to announce that with the sales of the Bushfire Appeal sets, our final donation amount to the Australian Red Cross Bushfires 2009 Appeal will be $77,889.63!

It’s birthday time

It seems that the months of March, April and May are a busy time with lots of birthdays for members of our family and friends.  In our little family of 6 we celebrate all of our birthdays within a six week period….and it is my turn next.

We have attended quite a few birthday parties and celebrated a number of birthdays in the past week or so- including the kids’ school friends, playgroup friends and one of the kid’s Teachers.

Birthday wishes go out to Reagan, Grace, Evie, Mrs Neve, Kelly,  Thomas and Noah

I had fun playing with the Good Morning Sunshine Patterned paper for the assortment of birthday cards that follow.  I have used the cute bird from the Good Friend Stamp Set (page 99) as well as stamps from Greetings Eight (p 57) More Thoughts (p 143) and also Frames with a Flourish

Easter Goodies

Today marked the last day of Term 1 for my biggest three.  We now have two lovely weeks of school holidays to enjoy.  My kids went to school armed with treats for their Teachers and Education Assistants.

 

 

I have made use of a few of the designs from the  Good morning Sunshine.  This designer series paper pack on page 134 includes the new in-colours Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, one of my all time favourites chocolate chip as well as summer sun.   The little Easter bunny is one of the stamp sets from the “Greetings Eight” Stamp set.   As the name suggests, this stamp set found on page 57 includes eight stamps which cover a variety of different occasions.  I have watercoloured the bunny using the Aqua painter- collecting the ink from the lids of the Stampin’ Pads.

The fun thing about these Easter treats is that when you lift the ribbon bow- the chocolate bar inside is revealed.  In this case I used small Cadbury fundraiser chocolate bars.
