A special thanks to those who have got in touch with me to check whether I am doing OK. Everything is fine- I just haven’t had an opportunity to update my blog. I have been a tad unwell with a cold that has been lingering for a few weeks now and it has zapped my energy somewhat…..but all is well…and thanks for letting me know you have missed my blog entries.
I have a couple of cute cards to show you that were made for my kids’ friends from school for their birthdays. These cute little cards are decorated at the front and then the panels open up to reveal space inside with a pocket to hold a special note, a gift card or in my case the gift of money. Take a look….. aren’t they sweet?
Both cards are made with stamps out of the stamp set “Crazy for cupcakes” (page 44)The more boyish card on the left has been made using the colours Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango, Pacific Point and Riding Hood Red. The one on the right also has Riding Hood red– but it has been teamed with Pink Pirouette and Chocolate Chip plus a touch of patterned paper from the Bella Rose Patterned Paper Pack. (pg 134) I also used the Eyelet Border Punch (pg 153) which I have been using A LOT lately!
I have been really enjoying using a touch of glitter lately so have added dazzling diamonds and the fine supernova glitter to the cards for a bit of BLING.
Oops- I almost forgot to show you the inside…
In a couple of workshops this month participants used the Crazy for Cupcakes sets to make their cards. We even incorporated the Chocolate Mug Cake Recipe into the card. I have seen this recipe circulating via E-mail and was reminded of this neat recipe at Convention. For those who didn’t make it to a workshop this month, here is the recipe………..
5 MINUTE CHOC MUG CAKE
4 Tablespoons flour
4 Tablespoons sugar
2 Tablespoons cocoa
3 Tablespoons milk
3 Tablespoons oil
3 Tablespoons chocolate chips
A small splash of vanilla essence
1 large coffee mug
– Add dry ingredients to mug and
– Add the egg and mix thoroughly
– Pour in the milk and oil and mix
– Finally add the choc chips and
– Put your mug in the microwave
and cook for 3 minutes on HIGH
The cake will rise over the top of
the mug but don’t be alarmed!
Allow to cool a little and tip
out onto plate if desired!
