March 2014 – Miriam Thomas

Month: March 2014

One of my favourite occasions for cardmaking is when someone is celebrating a birthday.  Fun…bright….happy! Love it!  For this card I simply added strips of washi tape to a piece of cardstock and then ran it through my bighshot using a framelits from the Chalk talk framelits.   It is looking quite gloomy outside today so I might add a bit of ‘happy’ to my day by making some birthday cards in my studio.  Enjoy your weekend!

Love of my life

Here is a card I made for the love of my life…… I had to whip it up quickly prior to a lunch date so I’m glad the gorgeous Stampin’ Up! products allowed me to create it in only a matter of minutes.   He accidentally left the card on the table when we had finished lunch.  Fortunately we realised and rushed back to the restaurant before they had cleared our table.  Phew!

Mosaic Madness

I just wanted to share some projects I made using the “Mosaic Madness” Stamp Set and matching punch.    I also used the “Happy Day” stamp set for my sentiments on the card.  These were so simple to make.  I stamped and punched out the mosaic shapes and then had a bit of fun arranging them in different ways and finished them off with a fun greeting. It is great that the cards could be used for a variety of different reasons.

hello there

Don’t forget to stamp on the envelopes!

happy day

You can purchase these items separately OR purchase the stamp set and punch as a bundle and receive a 15% discount.  That means the clear mount Mosaic Madness bundle is only $54.95.  (Click on the image below to visit my online store)

The only other items I used to create my cards were some Whisper White Cardstock, inks. modern mosaic embossing folder and some self adhesive rhinestone jewels.   If you had any questions- it would be my pleasure to help you out.

Seeing as I had stamped and punched a variety of mosaic shapes, I decided use the leftover shapes to create a scrapbook page of my adorable daughter.  The photo was taken a couple of years ago while on a family holiday.

Oh- I just found these shots of my kids from Book Week 2013.  The kids dressed up as the Fantastic Four.  I enjoy dress ups for the kids- but I love it even more when it is EASY to prepare their costumes.  The number 4s on the kids chests were cut out in a matter of minutes using felt and my Bigshot.  I just love it when I can use my Stampin’ Up! supplies for a number of different projects…not just cards, scrapbook pages and gift giving!

Christmas 2013

Here is my Christmas Card for 2013.  Yes- I know….I know…Christmas was months ago but I’ve just been sifting through photos on my computer and wanted to share this anyway!    Perhaps it may even give you some ideas for Christmas this year.  Why not Pin it on Pinterest for later in the year!?

I always feature a photo of my kids on my Christmas card and then I usually add stamped images and other embellishments.  It can be a time consuming process when I have loads of cards to create…thank goodness I love it so much.

This year  I used My Digital Studio to create my card.  I had to print off photos anyway so figured I may as well add some embellishments digitally seeing as I have My Digitial Studio at my fingertips.  I had the main area printed and then adhered the images to my Stampin’ Up! cardstock.  Voila!

One of my favourite tools I used on this card was the Scalloped Tag Topper punch from the Occasions Catalogue.  You can purchase this punch in my online store.    The idea is to make fun tags with these but I chose to punch both the top and bottom for my card.  My kids have even used my punch to make bookmarks for themselves.

Another fun tool I used on the card was the White Stampin’ chalk Marker for a fun chalkboard effect.  These are available for only $5.95
