More pretty butterflies- A scrapbooking layout for you!
We have had some very hot days recently and it has made me feel really hot and bothered. In an attempt to lift my mood I decided to scrapbook a nice BRIGHT layout. I went looking through my paper racks for inspiraton and then remembered that I had some leftover pieces from a FLOWER POWER CARD ELEMENTS pack. I loved the colours in the cardmaking pack and when I made some cards using it- I remember thinking to myself how it would make a nice fun, bright layout!
I decided on the nice BRIGHT patterned paper, cardstock stickers, old olive cardstock scraps as well as the More Mustard ribbon, buttons and brads from the cardmaking kit as the starting point of my layout. The kit doesn’t contain 12 x 12 cardstock so I used a piece of Elegant Eggplant cardstock as my background and went from there.
I then remembered that the FLOWER FUSION Felt flowers would be a great match for the colours in the patterned paper so I whipped them out and decided to use those in combination with the cardstock sticker elements. A felt that a few rhinestone brads in the centre of some of the flowers would really finish things off. Don’t you love it when things come together so easily! Just one of those things I love about Stampin’ Up! – the awesome colour co-ordination of the products!
I have a bit of a ‘thing’ for butterflies at the moment- I can’t help it….especially with the release of the new butterfly punch in the Summer Mini Catalogue that co-ordinates perfectly with stamp sets such as “Butterfly Prints” (Summer Mini) and “Flight of the butterfly” (Main catalogue)
On my layout I used one of the stamps from “Butterfly prints”- the butterfly with gorgeous swirls as well as the stamp with the quote. I used my stamp-a-ma-jig for perfect placement inside one of the frame stamps from “Frames with a flourish” I also used the heart from from “A Happy Heart”. Here is a close up……
I didn’t stop there….I had enough leftover cardstock elements and patterned paper to complete a second layout.
