A card for you

Last weekend we celebrated World Card making Day.  On Saturday night I had a group of lovely ladies come and join me at my place for a night of cardmaking, chatter and of course LOTS of fun!    We even had a special prize draw- but quite a few of the ladies had already left by the time I drew the name! Don’t worry your names all went into the draw as promised!!!! Congratulations go out to Hannah who was the winner of the main prize!

This is one the cards we made.

We made use of my newly aquired Magnetic Movers and Shapers Die to cut and score the cardstock.  The die even cuts out the curly label area on the right hand side.  The neat thing about this die is that you can move the little magnetic curly label shape so that it cuts anywhere on the card! Very neat!

We used the Woodgrain background stamp on the main piece of cardstock and the Greenhouse Garden stamp set to form the panel of flowers on the left hand side.  The technique we used to create the two colours on the flower is known as “Two step stamping“.  We stamped the flower in daffodil delight and then stamped over with a moe detailed second image using early espresso.

There were lots of people who expressed interest in attending this workshop but for various reason were unable to attend.  I just wanted to remind you that later this month I will be having a “Christmas cards and tags workshop”.  Keep an eye out on my blog for more details………..

  1. Miriam, this card is fabulous! I love the stamping down the left hand side; I have to tell you I was thinking “What DSP has she used there?”! It looks GREAT! Thanks for sharing (I’m adding this to my ‘To CASE’ file!)

  2. Thanks again for a lovely night Miriam. I’ve already used the birthday card above and used the butterfly card yesterday for a friend’s engagement :)
