PONY PARTY PARADE!

When I first saw the Autumn/ Winter Mini Catalogue I just knew I had to get my hands on the “Pony Party” stamp set.  I thought it would be absolulely perfect for little girly projects for my daughter! I used it to create invitations for her birthday but have also had fun creating cards for other people using this stamp set.

For the following card the pony is completely covered in DAZZLING DIAMONDS glitter (although it is hard to tell in the image below!)  The little scene was created using the butterfly and flower stamp sets in the set and just a few squiggles with my markers!   I’m already onto my second roll of that divine Rich Razzleberry Ribbon and I expect I will probably order another roll (or more) before the end of August (when it will no longer be available)

When I created a gift card using the PONY PARTY stamp set I decided to create a unicorn instead of a ‘pony’.  I stamped the wings from the stamp set onto vellum and totally coated them in two way glue to attach the dazzling diamonds glitter.

If you have a little girl in your life who loves to create- You’ve got to get her this stamp set…..and even if you don’t have a little girl to give this to- why not buy it for yourself!? :-)    The stanp set is great value at only $34.95 for the wood mount set and $25.95 for the clear mount set.  If you host a workshop you could easily receive this stamp set for free (amongst other things) so please be sure to let me know if you would like to host your own workshop!

HAPPY EASTER

The Easter Bunny is yet to visit our place.  I think the Easter Bunny is waiting for all the kids to have their breakfast and have a shower before jumping the fence into our backyard.   I keep reminding the kids that the Easter Bunny isn’t going to visit if they keep checking outside.  :-)    While we wait for the Easter Bunny- I thought I would take a quick moment to share a couple of Easter projects.

The  first is an Easter card

The Easter eggs on the front have been simply punched out of patterned paper using the wide oval punch I think that adding a bow of pretty in pink taffeta ribbon adds a special touch.  I wanted it to look as though the Easter eggs were nestled in the garden and wanted to stamp a background that reflected that.  I used the two images from the “Thoughts and prayers” stamp set.  The greenery you see the eggs sitting on is actually the tree stamped upside down.  I have applied a very small amount of dazzling diamonds to the centre of each of the flowers at the top- it is hard to make it out in the photo but I think it adds a little special something to the card.

The second project is a milk carton containing mini easter eggs.

The milk carton base is the lovely “Elegant Eggplant” colour.

I started with a piece of A4 cardstock and trimmed it to 24cm x 21cm (NB- sketches not to scale)

I then added score lines so that I could easily fold and assemble the box.  I scored so that there was a 2cm tab on the top and the side.  I then scored at intervals so that each side of the carton was 5.5cm.  To match the dimensions of the sides I also scored the bottom so that it was 5.5cm.  The other measurements are shown in the image below

I then trimmed of the rectangle on the bottom left hand side as I find this a nuisance when assembling the box.  I then trimmed along the bottom flaps using my paper snips (indicated with blue dotted line in the image below)  Using a ruler and a bone folder I then added score lines on the sections shown in green

It is simply a matter of assembling the box using sticky strip and decorating as desired.  I hope you found these measurements useful.

I hope my lovely blog readers enjoy a lovely Easter today.  I’m hopping off to go and spend time with my family.

Christmas fun with Stampin’ Up! cellophane bags

Here’s a bit of fun with Stampin’ Up! Cellophane bags.    I just love creating with these little bags- lots of fun things you can make.    Create your own packaging for cards and other handmade items, sweet treat containers, lolly bags for kids paties- Add a topper for the bag, tie with ribbon…..the possibilities are endless.

Due to the fact that they are clear- they don’t jump off the pages of the catalogue and unfortunately many people miss them. You will find them on page 130 of the catalogue.

They come in three sizes.  The small size is 7.6cm x 12.7cm ($7.50), the medium size is 10.2cm x 15.2cm ($8.50) and the large size is 15.2cm x 20.3cm ($9.50).  Are you interested in ordering some cellophane bags from me?  Please be sure to get in touch if you are.  Please read on for the Christmas bags I made.  If you are not tempted now- you might just be soon!
