4 Tumbling Monkeys

Yay me! I promised I would make amends by making a blog entry EVERY DAY for at LEAST a week and I’ve made it past the halfway point .  It is Day 5 and I’m still on track!

Today marks the start of the second week of school holidays and the card I have to show you today depicts my household at the moment.  I’ll let the picture tell the story.  Here’s a “tumbling monkeys” birthday card.

CARDSTOCK: Chocolate Chip, Riding Hood red, Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point, Whisper White

RIBBON: Pacific Point Striped Grosgrain,

STAMP SET: Fox and Friends

I used my bigshot to add the polka dot texture to the piece of riding hood red cardstock.  I also cut out the label for the greeting using my bigshot.  This gorgeous little label is available in the Autumn/ Winter Mini as part of a set of 4.  Please see page 10 of the Autumn/ Winter Mini for more details.

Happy Birthday Luke

My youngest celebrated his second birthday last week.   Two years ago he made his rather unorthodox arrival at home in our bathroom and he has kept us on his toes ever since.   I have no idea where the last two years have gone.  His birthday crept up on me quickly and at the last minute I decided that we need to have a little celebration for him.

We took some cupcakes to Playgroup on the day of his actual birthday

I simply stamped lots of images from the NEW ”Fox and Friends” stamp set.  I then punched out each image using the scallop circle punch.  I attached each image onto a toothpick and popped them in the centre of each cupcake.  Seriously - it wasn’t even a 10 minute job!   The kids had a great time licking the icing off the cake as they twirled the cake toppers in their hands.

Here’s a close up of the adorable owl

…..and here is the adorable birthday boy.

He has been singing Happy Birthday to himself for days and has LOVED the attention- I think he will get a rude shock later this month as my husband and I and two of our kids all have birthdays in April (followed by my oldest child’s birthday in May)

Later in the week- family and a small handful of friends gathered for another little celebration.  I whipped up some super-simple lolly bags.  I created a super simple topper for each cellophane bag.  Again I used the Fox and Friends stamp set- however this time I punched out each image using the circle punch and then attached each image to a coloured scalloped circle.

Yes it probably looks like there was an extensive guest list- but there wasn’t- I simply have a large family with lots of kids!

Now- those who know me well will know that I like bright colours- but I don’t normally use the colours from the “Bright Bolds” colour family.  (I generally use colours from the other colour families)   This is the cake I made for Luke and I’m sure it will give you a good indication as to why I decided to use “bold brights” this time

Happy Birthday little guy! I hope all of your birthday wishes come true!
