stampin up – Miriam Thomas

Sincere apologies for my lack of blog entries lately.  As always, it can be tricky balancing blogging with living life.  April is a busy time in our household with lots of birthdays including  our twins who turned 9 years old on Sunday 28th April.  They each had a party with their friends and also a family BBQ.  As their birthday fell in the WA school holidays they got to celebrate with friends a little early.  Here are some snapshots of Adam’s Angry Birds/ Gamer Birthday party.

Firstly the invitation.  I created Adam’s invitation using MY DIGITAL STUDIO which is a Stampin’ Up! product for creating digital projects.

If you would like to try out this product- You can download a free trial from my online store.  Just click on the button that says ‘shop now’.  The full version is only $24.95 and includes lots of great content.  Try it out and let me know what you think!

Anyway- back to the birthday party.  I didn’t use a lot of Stampin’ Up! products for Adam’s decorations but I can assure you that my Stampin’ Up! PAPER SNIPS got a good workout (It is great that my kids are now at an age where they are lots of help with the party preparations! Thanks for your help with all of the cutting!)

Call me crazy but I love all of the birthday party preparation.  I was even crazy enough to hold a party for Erin the following day.  Stay tuned for pictures!

Well it is about time I updated my poor neglected blog…..and what better way to end a blog hiatus with a bit of an update on the fabulous time I had at Stampin’ Up! Convention in Canberra.  At the beginning of this month I excitedly made the trip to meet with other Stampin’ Up! demonstrators including some gorgeous members of the team I don’t get to see very often.  It is so lovely to just touch base with everyone, share ideas, be inspired by fabulous presentations and be reminded of why I love Stampin’ Up! so much. Ok- I’ll admit it- it was also nice to have a bit of a break away from my four little darlings.

One of my favourite things about Convention is touching base with other demonstrators- although I didn’t take nearly enough photos of those lovely people.  I guess it is tricky when you are trying to manage “hellos” and big squeezes while also juggling Convention bags and goodies from Memento Mall

(Tina, Me, Kathryn)

(My lovely upline, Claire Daly and me)

There was a “Product Playground” to try out the lovely products and there were gorgeous swaps and samples everywhere.

This years theme was “I am” with the sub theme of “My way”. I’m sure I had the theme song stuck in my heads days later!   Many presentations took place on the large ‘mainstage’.

I always love hearing from Shelli Gardner (Stampin’ Up! CEO and Co-founder)

There were always flashing cameras catching photos of the fabulous ideas presented by talented fellow demonstrators from Australia and New Zealand as well as U.S. and Australian Stampin’ Up! staff

Main stage was also the place we had Prize Patrol.  There’s nothing like the offer of “FREE STAMPIN’ UP! products to get a room full of demonstrators excited.

I was fortunate enough to score some lovely brand spanking NEW products that will be available when the NEW catalogue is officially released in September. I’m a lucky gal!

Of course a Stampin’ Up! event would not be complete without a bit of creating.  I can’t understand why but I didn’t manage to finish my projects.  It may have been the fault of the crazy lady on the table

Who- me? Never! 🙂

Each year those who are Managers+ with SU have a special Managers’ Reception.  This year it was an extra special treat.  We jumped aboard a bus with ID and strict instructions not to carry any dangerous objects- not even paper snips.  Our bus driver was intent on keeping the mystery and drove us around in circles trying to confuse us before we eventually arrived at Parliament House. I must have still been seedy from the bus trip as I was pulled aside and checked for explosives.  I was either looking particularly dodgy that night or perhaps I was selected due to my ‘explosive personality’ (boom boom)  For fear of being rugby tackled to the ground by security I do not have any photos of inside Parliament House other than some lovely happy snaps with some Managers from the “Art with Heart Team”

From left to right Sue (my lovely ‘roomie’), Kathryn, Genna, Claire and myself

We even managed to snap a photo with the gorgeous Shelli

….and before heading back to our hotel rooms we were given a lovely gift each

The three day event ended with the Awards Banquet

It was at this time that the announcement was made that the next Grand Vacation will be in Salt Lake City- Home of Stampin’ Up! Swoon!  I would so dearly love to go!  Who knows! If enough of my lovely customers book workshops and place orders and fabulous people jump on board my team then I could experience the trip of a lifetime.   Every little bit makes a difference and you know how to find me if you would be kind enough to help me get me a few steps closer to getting there!

Lastly if you’d like to see a short video of highlights from the Stampin’ Up! Convention- I’ve linked to the highlights on my facebook page (click on the facebook image below) Please head on over to check it out (and please don’t forget to ‘like’ my page while you’re there!)

Here’s a bit of fun with Stampin’ Up! Cellophane bags.    I just love creating with these little bags- lots of fun things you can make.    Create your own packaging for cards and other handmade items, sweet treat containers, lolly bags for kids paties- Add a topper for the bag, tie with ribbon…..the possibilities are endless.

Due to the fact that they are clear- they don’t jump off the pages of the catalogue and unfortunately many people miss them. You will find them on page 130 of the catalogue.

They come in three sizes.  The small size is 7.6cm x 12.7cm ($7.50), the medium size is 10.2cm x 15.2cm ($8.50) and the large size is 15.2cm x 20.3cm ($9.50).  Are you interested in ordering some cellophane bags from me?  Please be sure to get in touch if you are.  Please read on for the Christmas bags I made.  If you are not tempted now- you might just be soon!
