The BIGSHOT makes life ‘oh so easy’ sometimes!

I wanted to make some ‘party favours’ for my youngest’s birthday!  His birthday was less then 2 weeks before we moved house and with so much happening at that time I simply didn’t have time for lolly bags that were too fussy to make! I wanted them to look nice though!   So out came the bigshot and the milkcarton die!

I just whizzed the cardstock through the bigshot and not only did it cut out the template for the milkcarton- it also added the score lines as well! This obviously makes assembly super simple!  All that was needed was some STICKY STRIP to hold the base closed, a stamped image to decorate the sides- I used the very fitting “Make a monster” stamp set- and a mini library clip for the top of the carton!

The Bigshot is definitely one of those ‘must have tools’.  Book a workshop with me and I can show you and your friends how to use it.  With the release of the catalogue there is a NEW “hostess reward system” where depending on sales you can use your hostess spending money to go towards something like a bigshot or even receive it at HALF price!   Please be sure to get in touch to book a workshop OR find out more about the new hostess rewards system!   0419 947 047

Well I’m excited! We finally have a phone line and an internet connection and life is starting to return to some form of “normality”.  It won’t be long and I’ll be able to offer classes in my home again and as always I’m also available to conduct a workshop in your home with your friends!

Anyway…. My computer is in serious need of upgrading and I was sorting through some items on my computer and stumbled across some photos of projects I haven’t shared on my blog yet!   Here are some little boxes I made- just the perfect size for a couple of pairs of little baby socks for Baby Shower Gifts!

Yes It is Day 6 and I’m nearly there! I promised 7 days straight of blog entries and I’m nearly there! I can hear the round of applause from here! LOL!   I know you’re popping in to visit but please don’t forget to leave a comment or send me a message via E-mail 🙂

Today’s project is a fun and simple project inspired by one of Bonnie Thurber’s demonstrations at Convention.  We received the “Share a Cup” stamp at the Manager’s Reception and I couldn’t wait to get home to assemble and use it!  I loved the idea of creating a stack of cups using the MASKING TECHNIQUE.  I also created a cute little box using the scallop envelope die and my bigshot.  I have seen many variations of these boxes but thought this shape would be the perfect size for a little gift OR completing more of these little cards and popping them inside the box.

One of my favourite patterned paper packs is Raspberry Tart.    I have a few projects to share where I have used the Raspberry Tart paper.  Isn’t it yummy?

The first is a waterfall card.   I have used predominantly Rose Red and Regal Rose cardstock with a touch of Kiwi Kiss cardstock.  One of the things I love about this paper is the variety of patterns and how you can get a totally different effect if you used a different balance of colours (Eg Use a piece of Kiwi Kiss cardstock as your card base instead)  I simply punched the butterflies I had out of scraps on my workspace-  Oh- and if you haven’t heard the news yet- The butterfly punch is staying!!!  It was featured in the Summer Mini Catalogue- and I am thrilled to let you know that it is still possible to order this punch even though it isn’t displayed in the main catalogue or New Autumn Winter Mini Catalogue.

The next project is a little gift bag.

It is easy to assemble a cute little bag like this- in a few simple steps

Step 1: Cut your designer series paper to 30cm x 18cm

Step 2: Score lines (using your bone folder) at 13cm and 17cm

Step 3: On both sides of the bag- trim in 4cm at both fold lines.  (For this type of bag I like to trim the tabs in on angle so that the tabs sit nicely when the bag is assembled)

Step 3.  Mark points on each of the 4 outer corners (on the short side) at 1cm from the edge.  You could use a pencil but I prefer to just leave a little dent in the paper using my bone folder.

Step 4:  Score a line from that 1cm point down to the bottom of the tab.  I have drawn a white dotted line to make it easer to see the fold lines.

Step 5: Place sticky strip on two of the large triangular tabs to hold your bag in place.

I cut the handles for this bag using my Circle Scissors Plus-  I was so thrilled when I found out that this item would also be available in the Autumn Winter Catalogue.  If you had this item on your wishlist and didn’t get an opportunity to order it before the end of March- it is still available.  Be sure to get in touch if you would like to order your Circle Scissors Plus and Cutting Mat.

Rather than discarding the circle made when cutting the handles- I turned it into a tag

The Beautiful stamped image on this tag is from the Razzle Dazzle Stamp set that featured in the Summer Mini Catalogue that finished at the end of March.    I’m sorry to tease you with a stamp set that you aren’t able to order but I wanted to show how the off-cuts can be turned into something lovely too!

I have another little item I wanted to show you but I can’t seem to find the image on my computer! I will be sending out a newsletter next week so I will be sure to track down a photo and include it in my newsletter (complete with measurements)  If you are not already on my newsletter list- please be sure to sign up to receive your copy (box on the right hand side)

Having a Happy Moment

Here is a little gift I sent away.  Silly ol’ me created a box with lid.  The idea being that the box would close with a flap at the top.  I added the contents and the box wouldn’t close as I hadn’t made the box tall enough for the contents.  I simply tucked the flaps inside the box.  I have made use of another stamp from the choice of 4 SALE-A-BRATION STAMP SETS.  Remember that these are the stamp sets you can earn for FREE with every purchase of $100.

Here is an image of the “Happy Moments” stamp set that you could receive with any purchase of $100 from the main and/or mini catalogue.  The stamp set includes 4 images and three greetings.

Are you wondering what the patterned paper is in the background of the image of the box?  That piece of paper comes from the KALEIDOSCOPE designer series paper pack from the Summer Mini (only available until the end of March)  Let me know if you would like to order a pack for yourself

Teacher gifts

Today marks for the first day of school holidays here.   I love the school holidays as it is generally a break from the normal hectic routine.  I have an insane amount of stuff to get done in the next week in the lead up to Christmas but I am very much looking forward to the relaxation that will come after Christmas.

It was quite surreal picking up my kids from school yesterday afternoon knowing that it was the last day of Pre-Primary for Erin and Adam and also the last day of Year 2 for Jared.  They have had such great Teachers and Education Assistants this year and the kids said thank-you with a little gift they gave their Teachers and EAs at this beginning of the week!

Each little box had an item of jewellery for the teachers and assistants.  The kids picked out the items that they thought they would like best.

Each box with embossed with either gold or silver embossing powder and the BAROQUE wheel.  I also embossed one of the layer of the butterflies (from BUTTERFLY PRINTS) on the top of the boxes.  I placed a rhinestone in the centre of each butterfly.  The rhinstones are actually the centres from the rhinestone brads.  The brads are silver around the edges and I didn’t think they would work on the boxes I had embossed with gold embossing powder so I removed the rhinestones from all of the fixtures and secured them in place using glue dots.

I used a circle punch on the front of each box to make it easier to flip the lid on each box and reveal the goodies inside!

Each box was finished off with a strip of ribbon to match the colours in the item of jewellery inside.

When I saw the White Staz-on ink the SPRING Mini Catalogue I added it to my MUST HAVE list as it is the perfect kind of ink to stamp on the Stampin’ Up! cellophane bags. I could just imagine stamping gorgeous snow flakes all over the bags at Christmas time. I got the opportunity to show a few customers this neat ink however the Spring Mini catalogue ended before I knew it and I was really hoping to show more people. Can you imagine how thrilled I was when we received an update from Stampin’ Up! to say that this particular product would be appearing in the next main catalogue and we are able to continue to sell this item even though the Spring Mini has finished. There are a few other items that are still available too!

112534 Jumbo brads 5/16″ Neutrals Assortment $15.50
112533 Jumbo brads 5/8″ Neutrals Assortment $13.50
114889 Scallop Oval punch $30.95
106960 StazOn ink pad (White pad and refill) $22.95
109196 StazOn Cleaner $9.95

Anyway- back to the the white STAZ-ON Ink…..

Here are some cute little bags I made that were inspired by a project Bonnie demonstrated at Perth Regionals. I have stamped all over the LARGE cellophane bags using the snowflake stamp from WINTER POST

The little box inside is separated into 4 little compartments as shown

I then made an assortment of tags using various Christmas stamp sets which were placed inside the compartments before sliding into the cellophane bag and tying with ribbon.

A hostess received this cute little box in a cellophane bag as her little thank-you gift for hosting a demonstration at her place. Of course she was also able to select Stampin’ Up! merchandise of her choice and also able to select from a range of stamp sets only available to hostesses. Does this sound good to you? Please be sure to get in touch as I would be more than happy to conduct a workshop for YOU and your friends.

The Summer Mini is here

I am so thrilled that the Summer Mini Catalogue commences today!

There is SOOO much Yummy stuff in the catalogue that I really don’t know where to begin.  You can check it out online on the link to your right.  My wonderful customers will start receiving their own copy in the mail very soon! Please keep an eye out for your copy.  If you don’t receive one soon- and would like one- please let me know and I will happily post one to you!

One of my favourite items from the catalogue is the circle scissors.  It is a neat tool that allows you to cut circles up to 16cm.  You use the circle scissors on a glass cutting mat (also available in the Summer Mini Catalogue)  I also recommend purchasing some dotto (main catalogue) to temporarily hold the cardstock in place when cutting.  Here it is- ready to make a cut in some Close to Cocoa cardstock…..

You can also use it to cut “rings”  (as pictured below)

I used the close to cocoa circle and more mustard ring on the following project- A notepad holder.

and here is the notepad holder open

Isn’t that stamped image on the cover just divine!?  It is a stamp from the new Summer Catalogue called “Razzle Dazzle”  The moment I saw it- it was added to my “must have” list!

So…. what are you waiting for?  Go check out the catalogue.  If you want to start ordering the items on your “must have” list- please be sure to get in touch with me.  I am more than happy to play “Secret Santa” if you have a long wish list and would like to receive the gift of Stampin’ Up products for Christmas.   Please get your “significant other” to  get in touch with me. I will even gift wrap your products so all you need to do is pop it under the tree.   To guarantee delivery prior to Christmas- please place your orders before the 10th of December.  Gift vouchers are also available (right up until Christmas Eve)
